Who Is This Coaching For?

Interview Preparation Coaching is designed for:

  • Executives pursuing a new position
  • Professionals preparing for a promotion
  • Technical experts moving into leadership
  • High-potential employees
  • Founders and senior leaders
  • Introverted or anxious candidates
  • Professionals returning to the job market
  • Candidates facing a panel or multi-stage interview
  • Highly qualified people who struggle to communicate their value

We especially enjoy working with quiet geniuses, analytical thinkers and subject-matter experts whose knowledge is stronger than their interviewing skills.

Why Qualified Candidates Struggle in Interviews

Many talented people are passed over because they do not make their expertise visible.

They may:

  • Ramble or overexplain
  • Give answers that are too technical
  • Speak too quickly or quietly
  • Sound memorized or overly polished
  • Struggle to describe their accomplishments
  • Minimize their contributions
  • Lose confidence when challenged
  • Have difficulty answering unexpected questions
  • Fail to connect their experience to the employer’s needs
  • Appear stiff, nervous, apologetic or uncertain
  • Forget to demonstrate warmth, curiosity and leadership

Other candidates overcorrect. They try so hard to appear confident that they lose their natural personality and become rigid or inauthentic.

A strong interview is not a performance of someone you think the employer wants. It is a flexible, purposeful conversation that helps the interviewer understand your value.

The Yes And Innovations Approach

We begin by understanding the position, organization, interview format and outcome you want.

Coaching may include:

  • Reviewing the job description and employer
  • Identifying your strongest experience and leadership qualities
  • Developing concise stories about your accomplishments
  • Practicing common and difficult interview questions
  • Preparing for behavioral and situational questions
  • Simulating panels and high-pressure interviews
  • Improving voice, posture, gestures and eye contact
  • Learning how to pause and think without appearing uncertain
  • Handling unexpected questions
  • Recovering when you lose your train of thought
  • Asking intelligent questions
  • Practicing difficult salary or responsibility conversations
  • Receiving specific feedback and interviewing again

We do not give you a pile of canned answers to memorize. We help you understand your value so thoroughly that you can communicate it naturally under pressure.

NeuroSpontaneity™ in Interview Preparation

Our coaching draws from three elements of the NeuroSpontaneity™ System.

StoryGenesis™

StoryGenesis helps you turn your experience into concise, memorable stories. Instead of listing qualifications, you demonstrate how you think, solve problems, lead people and create results.

Somatic Resonance™

Somatic Resonance develops vocal clarity, breathing, posture, physical comfort and nervous-system regulation. When you are more regulated, the interviewer is more likely to feel comfortable and confident with you.

Magnetic Influence™

Magnetic Influence helps you read the room, balance authority with warmth and guide the conversation toward your strongest value without appearing manipulative or rehearsed.

Preparing for the Questions That Matter

We can help you prepare for questions such as:

  • “Tell us about yourself.”
  • “Why are you the right person for this position?”
  • “Why do you want to lead this team?”
  • “Tell us about a difficult employee or conflict.”
  • “Describe a professional failure.”
  • “How do you perform under pressure?”
  • “Why should we promote you?”
  • “What would you change in your first 90 days?”
  • “Why are you leaving your current position?”
  • “What is your leadership philosophy?”

More importantly, we prepare you to handle the questions nobody predicted.

More Yourself — Plus Skill

Interview coaching should not turn you into someone else.

Brett Duggan and Yes And Innovations help clients uncover the strongest, clearest and most compelling version of their own professional story. Introverts do not need to become extroverts. Technical experts do not need to hide their intelligence. Experienced professionals do not need to manufacture charisma.

You need the skills to help other people recognize what you bring to the organization.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we hear before an engagement

Can you help with an interview happening soon?

Yes. Yes And Innovations can provide focused preparation for an upcoming interview when scheduling permits. Contact us as early as possible so there is time for practice and adjustment.

Will you write my answers for me?

We can help you organize, edit and strengthen your answers, but they must remain true to your experience and voice. Our goal is to make you more natural — not more scripted.

Can you help me prepare for a panel interview?

Yes. We can simulate panel interviews and practice eye contact, pacing, status dynamics and responding to different personalities.

Does this work for introverts?

Absolutely. You do not have to become extroverted to interview successfully. We help you connect through clarity, listening, presence and purposeful communication.

Can you help with virtual interviews?

Yes. We prepare clients for in-person and virtual interviews, including camera position, vocal energy, eye line, framing and online presence.

Do you record practice interviews?

We generally do not record sessions unless requested. Most coaching uses direct observation, specific feedback and repeated practice.

Is coaching confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality can be established at the beginning of the engagement, and Yes And Innovations can sign an NDA when appropriate.
